An ordinary cafe terrace will be turned into a very special performance space by Bug n’Buzz.
Two wonderful characters break the established codes, come up with new rules and grasp the unexpected.
Bug surfs through the audience with organic and robotic movements and switches skilfully between public and private spaces.
Buzz composes music out of everything he sees and touches. He turns a fork into a violin and a knife into a bass, and builds an ephemeral sound architecture accompanying Bug’s dance.
Bug n’Buzz distort time and space to bring us along the sensitive and collective experience of music and dance.
Maud Payen, dancer choreographer, and Adil Kaced, composer and musician, met in the artistic center of Montpellier. Not long after their first encounter, they started a first collaboration and developed various projects. They discovered that, through the combination of their skills, they could come up with surprising and unique performances. Together, they founded Cie Concordance in 2007.
Since then they have developed two different working methods to achieve unique dance and music productions. On the one hand they create through fieldwork, research and collaborations with other artists, on the other hand they create through a more intuitive approach to the relationship between music and dance, improvisation and the ability to occupy public space.
Adil and Maud take over the art by stripping it of its conventions and giving voice to a generation immersed into a self-discovery search. They work on immediacy and freedom to nourish their creativity and thrive to convey optimism and harmony to the audience.
