Peaux Bleues

Creation 2020

The ”Peaux bleues” group comprises men and women with multiple horizons…
United, they go from town to town to give their concert. This group makes clear its values: those of equal opportunities, of one’s right to show his/her difference. It states them singing, without making concessions. Together, to create Beauty: Beauty as a shield against common beliefs and “the crime of being black”.

A performance for 12 interpreters, actors, musicians, dancers and singers.
A musical manifesto against common beliefs and stereotypes of all kinds.
The crime of being black.
How to make visible what does not seem to be…?
By stepping through the looking glass in a quiet manner?
No! This only happens in fairy tales
We are going to put one’s foot in one’s mouth spectacularly.
All this to state that we are all made of bits from near and far.
We show colour, we cultivate melanin, curl and fuzzy hair.
We wear our chin up, Shine up!
It is here where the future takes his roots from.
The world is moving, it is undeniably marching against all oppositions and bad omens, towards the melting pot.
Paying attention to the other’s culture of the other does not mean the extinction of one’s own, it is enlightening and allows a better understanding of the world.
With “Peaux bleues”, we add another colour, another tribe to humanity…
A continent, we should say.

For thirty years, cie Oposito has crossed the roads from Noisy-le-Sec to Addis Ababa. Expressing its art in the streets, boulevards, squares, on the water and the sea. Imagining modern rituals and scenarios that can slip into the life of the city and highlight its hidden, forgotten and unknown parts. Looking for the movement that suits the crowd best, Oposito draws and creates images that are not afraid of spaces, noises or storms.

Oposito continues to explore theatrical expressions in itinerant shows. A story that appears, slips and disappears in the heart of the city, in which the viewer's perception is a physical sensation coupled with a poetic emotion. The parade is one of the signs most suited to the language of crowds and large spaces. Its movement is built in the form of successive appearances, a rhythm that takes the public by surprise to embark it as an unconditional passenger of our dreams.
