We are welcoming a new Dutch theatre company to our roster!
From May 2024, we are joining forces with DeRonde/Deroo.
DeRonde/Deroo is a collective formed by Tom de Ronde and Nick Deroo. Both studied at the Mime Academy in Amsterdam at the Amsterdam Hogeschool voor de Kunsten and have a great love for cinematic theatre.
DeRonde/Deroo create dream worlds that burn on your retina.
As a spectator, you get an insight into a universe with its own rules and surreal moments.
Their performances are physical and disruptive and are often described as visually stunning poems.
‘It really hurts when your head hits the concrete’ is their first outdoor performance.
In this physical performance, a man drags his companion with him like a rag doll.
A 70-kilo body tied to him. En route and lost, they search for a way out with the rag doll serving as a living Swiss army knife. Tap its head and water comes out or climb it as a watchtower when looking for directions. But what if your companion suddenly doesn't want to go any further?
‘It really hurts when your head hits the concrete’ won the audience award at the Café Theatre Festival this spring and can already be seen at Dutch and Belgian Festivals this summer.
Have a look at the tour here or drop by during Oerol, De Parade, Theater aan Zee or Theaterfestival Boulevard.
